This is one of my favorite shots from my most recent kiteboarding photoshoot. The location is really special to me, although in recent years the conditions haven’t always been ideal for shooting. This past year was a bit better, but still challenging.
It’s always a pleasure to work with professional kiteboarder Erick Anderson. I’m especially excited that the small rainbow appeared in the spray — a detail I worked hard to capture. I put a lot of effort into lighting both the rider and the spray, because the spray itself tells the story of the maneuver, showing where the rider came from and tracing his path through the air.
