I noticed the clouds one afternoon recently were setting up for a beautiful SoCal sunset, so I called my friend who's a Harbor Patrol officer and asked her to meet me at the beach for quick portrait. The clouds did not disappoint.

Shot in RAW on a Nikon D750 with a Nikon 24-300mm f/4 zoom lens, which was set at f/5 and 1/160 sec at ISO 800. Flash used was a Godox V-1n using the Godox X2n trigger and a Photix 85mm octobox that was held up on a boom pole above the subject.

I exposed for the background first, then adjusted my light output on the flash to balance my friend with the background. If I could do it over again, I would have preferred to use Nikon's 24mm f/1.4 prime lens and my Nikon Z8. I didn't find the zoom lens to be all that sharp. The D750 is still an outstanding camera, in my book, but I do love the larger files on the Z8.
