Justin Gatlin of the USA in action during the Men's 100m Semi-Final at the 2017 Athletics World Championships in London, England. The vast majority of sports photographers had of course situated themselves on the head-on platform in front of the finish line to get the athletes running at them, but because I didn't have a commission for this event that day I thought I would try something a bit different and sit on one of the benches alongside the home straight. Panning/blur shorts can be tricky, especially in a 100m race, you have to settle your focal point on a specific position and try and track it as best you can. Thankfully Justin's face was fairly sharp in this frame.
