It's probably a bit cliched at this point but I think it's a common practise to do panning shots at track cycling because the results are just so striking. When you cover an event like this for a photo agency it's important to get a variety of types of shots and these, if you've tracked the bikes correctly, often make for a pretty frame, especially with the purple and blue branding of these Games.
