This was a photo of a machine that automatically cuts wire to a certain length. Once cut, it is spat out into spinning drum where it is collected by the operator. The goal was to show speed and movement in the photo. One challenge was the lighting. Due to the brand guidelines, we had to shoot in dark room, high-lighting the product's certain features with studio lights. With all the overhangs, there were many dark nooks that the light was having a hard time filling. Luckily, the operator/ engineer, had magnetized flashlight that we could hand underneath ... Bought four sets by the end of the day.
