This was shot at Road Atlanta during a WRL race. The shutter speed was 1/5th it is shot on top of spectator hill through the trees. Lots of people attempt this shot and it is a challenge with a very low keeper rate but when nailed it is real cool.

So freaking cool to actually see my work on the Fstoppers Youtube channel. To answer some of the questions from their discussion. I did indeed prefocus on the track surface and I have focus recall programmed to a button on the lens. To Patrick I did not use High speed shutter as the window through the leaves and the shutter speed only allow 1 shot to take place in that window. The race track was Road Atlanta and this particular weekend had two 8 hour races with lap times are around 90 seconds, this gives you all the opportunities you need to get the shot. For Lee this car was one of my customers and I delivered 200+ on track shots and 100+ Driver, Crew and Paddock shots between the teams 2 cars. After completing what I consider a photo package you get to start playing around with crazy pans and more fun and rewarding shots to take.
