Michelle Moore sent us her very first behind the scenes video and we at fstoppers were thoroughly impressed. I know a lot of our readers are big on strobes and lighting but if this video teaches you anything it is that often times natural light is the best route to go especially when shooting lifestyle images. Here are some details about the shoot from Michelle herself and the final images can been seen at http://saltprep.com/2010/04/launch/:
"This shoot was created to look like a Teen Vogue editorial, highlighting our favorite spring trends for 2010. We set out to create a variety of looks, as well as produce a photo story to launch our new site, http://saltprep.com in early April. Salt&Prep is a teen fashion blog created by photographer Michelle Moore (http://michellemooreblog.com) that sets out to inspire teens for their senior portraits, in addition to featuring the top senior portrait photography from around the country.
We scouted the location before-hand, since we were working strictly with natural light. We made sure each spot would work at the time of day we planned to shoot at, and that there would be minimal people walking around. It worked out perfect, because the college campus we shot at was on Spring Vacation that week, so campus was pretty quiet.
Michelle works with Canon, and the shoot was shot with the Canon 1Ds MK II and a 50mm 1.0L & 35mm 1.4L. To keep the shoot light and fresh - and very natural looking, we worked strictly with natural light, and used a white bounce when needed to pop extra light into the model's eyes when needed."
