There are so many cameras out there these days, it can be difficult to see the wood from the trees. As a result, some excellent cameras can be overlooked and this offering from Sony is one of them.
The Sony ZV-E10 is a small-form, 24-megapixel, APS-C body, with UHD 4K at 30fps and HD at 120fps. It has a flip-out touchscreen, 425-point autofocus, up to 11-fps shooting, and eye and face AF. It might be a small camera and it might only cost $798 with a lens, but it is a powerful option with all the mod-cons you would expect in more powerful bodies.
As I test cameras these days, I notice that my requirements are far higher than ever before. That isn't to say I expect better image quality than I have ever seen — I have got to a point where that's not much gained — but rather I want versatility. With the Sony ZV-E10, that's exactly what you're getting. You can shoot photographs, videos, and live stream, as well as augment the setup with microphones, gimbals, and high-end lenses. For the price of an average new lens, you can get a camera that can not only be jack of all trades, but approaches mastery of several of them.
Have you tried the ZV-E10? What do you think of it? Is anything missing? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
I did seriously look into this camera a couple weeks back. ultimately the only thing that lost it for me compared to the A6400 was the lack of weather sealing. it looks and feels like an incredible camera though.
Similarly I've compared this camera against my a6400, and I'm still happy with what I've got. However... I really want Sony to give us an update to the a6600. It is way past time for a new flagship APSC from Sony to answer Fuji and Canon.
We have a three camera video podcast and one of the cameras is the ZV E-10. Considering switching the other two as well considering they’re iPhones 👎🏼
