After 6 Months, Was the Leica Q2 Ghost Worth It?

Leica can be a polarizing brand for primarily one reason: price. Nevertheless, the cameras they create are often special and those who shoot with them, swear by them. In this video, Evan Ranft goes through his thoughts on whether the purchase was worth it or not.

I have never much been one for clickbait or highly controversial topics in the interest of interaction or views farming. This is perhaps why I enjoy writing about Leica so much; people rush to the comments. Leica has a passionate, cult following that will follow the brand to the ends of the earth (or to financial ruin). Leica also has an outraged mob who like to hurl abuse at those who spend large sums of money on the brand's offerings. It's quite the war; it reminds me of Canon versus Nikon 15 years ago.

What makes this subject particularly interesting for me is that I feel a light affiliation with both sides. Having tried their cameras and lenses, I have thoroughly enjoyed what they do and I appreciate the Leica "magic" their fans refer to in various ways. Conversely, some of their cameras are (to me, at least) absurdly overpriced and lack that magic. The Leica Q2 "Ghost" is likely in the former camp, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. It is a whopping $5,795 for a small full-frame body with a fixed lens, which is certainly hard to justify, but not impossible.
