Can This Unbelievably Cheap Lens Actually Deliver Good Images?

Generally, you need to get into about the $300 range before you start to see any lenses that can really deliver great results, but occasionally, a gem comes along at a price that seems too good to be true. The Pergear 35mm f/1.6 seems like it could be one of those lenses, and this great video review takes a look at it and what you can expect.

Coming to you from Dustin Abbott, this fantastic video review takes a look at the Pergear 35mm f/1.6. At just $70, the 35mm f/1.6 is remarkably cheap, and it seems to actually deliver fairly good results. Perhaps the biggest drawback is that it is a manual focal only lens, but with the focus assistance features of modern mirrorless cameras, a lot of these challenges are reduced. On the plus side, the 35mm f/1.6 is very small, weighing in at just 193 g (6.8 oz) despite having a rugged all-metal body. It also comes with six elements in four groups, Multi-MC Layer coating for reduced flares and ghosting and increased contrast, and 10 rounded aperture blades. At such a cheap price and with a neutral focal length, wide aperture, and very small footprint, it looks like a potentially great walkaround lens. Check out the video above for Abbott's full thoughts.
