Who It’s For:
The Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L USM is a professional normal lens and one of the three lenses that any professional photographer with a Canon camera will own (Along with the 16-35mm and 70-200mm). It’s expensive, but it’s tack sharp and built like a tank and ready for years of heavy use.
What We Like:
Sharpness: It’s not quite as sharp as the upgraded version of this lens but it still holds its own and as long as you’re not shooting at f/2.8 in the day and expecting miracles in the corners, you’re going to be alright.
Operation: It just works, everything seems to be where you need it.
Close Focusing: This lens can focus at only 0.38meters, which is fairly awesome.
Price: This is the older version of this lens so while it’s not quite up to date, it’s going to have some deep discounts which make it a really great deal.
What We Don’t:
Not Up To Date: this lens has been replaced by the second version of this lens
