This video by Eren Sarigul focuses on one lens — the Fujifilm 56mm f/1.2 — and how it changed how he takes photographs. Well, I have had that experience too; twice in fact. For me, the Canon 135mm f/2 L and the Fujifilm GF 110mm f/2 R LM WR had a drastic impact in how I approach photography. Both are relatively similar in terms of effective focal length and widest aperture, and perhaps that's why I like them so but, but they hand differently. What grabbed me about these two primes is the filmic quality that came out of every shot.
When I first bought the Canon, I kept it on hand like a secret weapon for shoots. I found it difficult to take an image I didn't like. Gradually, the effects wore off somewhat, though not completely, only to be reignited with the Fuji. When you find a lens that resonates with you, you find that two things happen: firstly, you are invigorated and gladly shooting at every opportunity. Secondly, you work out ways to get your new favorite lens into every shoot.
What lens has done this for you?
