Hey Richard, thanks for posting these. I'm going to give you a 100% honest critique.

I think the most important thing you can do as a growing photographer is to ask yourself "how are my images different from every other amateur's shots." Most people with a cell phone camera aren't trying to capture "art" they are simply trying to document the moment. They might say "I was at a car show so I want to take a picture of that cool car I saw." Where as a professional photographer would say something like "I want to capture this car in a beautiful or unique way."

To me, your images land in the amateur category more than in the professional category because it doesn't appear that you have given any thought to composition or lighting, you simply captured a subject that happened to be in front of you. It doesn't feel like there was any planning or thought involved other than capturing a correct exposure.

We've all been there, I certainly have. And at this moment you may be having a hard time understanding what I'm saying but hopefully if you keep practicing, you'll look back on these images in a few months and fully understand what I mean.

I am certainly not a car photographer but I did a very simple car shoot that you can easily recreate if you're interested. Check out the video at the bottom of this post. Towards the end of the video I show a simple method: https://fstoppers.com/dad-surprised-1968-camaro-convertible-christmas

I appreciate your feedback Here are 2 photos I took this past weekend.
