4 of Photography’s Most Popular Pros Share Their Best Beginner Tips

Across all their social media accounts, these four pro photographers have well over a million followers and subscribers. That means people like what they do and what they say. Here, these four get together in one room and share their best beginner photography tips, favorite apps, most loved destinations and so much more.

As quaint (or antiquated) as it sounds, when I began my photography journey so many years ago that I can't even remember exactly when it was. Needless to say, there was no internet. No smartphones, no YouTube, no Google: nothing. I did it the old-fashioned way: I hung out with a bunch of famous surf photographers and annoyed them with constant questions, and then went out and tried to put into practice all the theory they'd kindly shared with me. Then, I went back for more. These days, it's so comparatively easy to get help in almost anything you're interested, including photography. The real difficulty lies in sifting through the garbage in order to find the treasure.

And that brings us to this great video by Nigel Danson, in which he sits down with three other outstanding landscape photographers — Rick Bebbington, Mads Peter Iverson, and James Popsys — and they all discuss photography and their best tips for beginners. With well over a million followers combined across their socials, these guys have a lot of good things to say, and their work backs up their words. As the saying goes, if you're going to talk the talk, you have to walk the walk. And these guys certainly do. I have to say my favorite came from Mads: learn post-production. These days, you can do so much after the fact that your imagination really is your only obstacle. The guys also touch on so many other things. I really recommend you give it a watch. Let me know your thoughts below.
