A Complete Guide to Shooting a Landscape Photograph From Lens Choice Through Editing

The challenge of landscape photography is that unlike most other genres, you do not get control over the lighting or the placement of the elements in the frame. For some photographers, though, that is one of the most fascinating and enjoyable aspects of the genre. If you would like to improve your landscape work, check out this fantastic video tutorial by an experienced photographer that will guide you through the entire process from lens choice to editing.

Coming to you from Andy Mumford, this awesome video tutorial will show you a complete landscape workflow from working in the field through editing the final shot. If you are new to the genre, the best advice I can give is to use a light touch when post-processing. There is a very fine line between a vibrant image that pops off the screen and one that is overly edited to the point of being gaudy, and unfortunately, once you have crossed that line, a photo can quickly go south. Generally, the best thing you can do is err on the side of editing less until you are comfortable with fine-tuning things. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Mumford.
