Few things are more important to making a successful landscape photograph than a clear and compelling composition. If that is something you struggle with, the great video tutorial will show you a helpful technique to ensure you create a good composition every time you head out with your camera.
Coming to you from Henry Turner, this excellent video tutorial will show you a straightforward technique for composing landscape images. No doubt, composition is a kind of elusive thing that many of us struggle with for years. The most common mistake I see is overcomplicating the composition simply by placing too much in the frame. Landscape compositions are a game of balancing different elements while simultaneously creating a clear visual path that can lead the viewer's eye into the image and to the main subject. This can lead to a tendency to keep adding more and more elements to try to balance the frame, but eventually, it just becomes too complicated for the viewer to take in successfully. Don't be afraid to go back and start over with a simpler frame. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Turner.
