If I could give a budding landscape photographer a single piece of advice, it would be to not get married to wide angle lenses. Of course, wide angle lenses have their place in the genre, but they sometimes get used to the point of excluding other focal lengths, and often, you can create more abstract, straightforward, and/or compelling images by using a longer lens.
