Some Helpful Tips for Better Landscape Photography

Landscape photography takes a range of aptitudes to make successful images: technical skills with your camera and equipment, creative vision, the ability to forecast and respond to evolving conditions, and strong post-processing technique. If you would like to improve your landscape work, check out this fantastic video tutorial from an experienced photographer that offers a wide range of helpful advice sure to put you on the right track.

Coming to you from Mads Peter Iversen, this excellent video tutorial discusses some ways to improve as a landscape photographer. If I could give a budding landscape photographer a single piece of advice, it would be to not get married to wide angle lenses. Of course, wide angle lenses have their place in the genre, but they sometimes get used to the point of excluding other focal lengths, and often, you can create more abstract, straightforward, and/or compelling images by using a longer lens. So, the next time you head out, consider tossing something like a 70-200mm lens in your bag. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Iversen.
