While looking for mushroom subjects I become enchanted with this small area which not only included this composition but an adjacent boulder covered in moss and lichen. The whole area’s forest’s limbs were also covered and draped in a variety of lichens.

Me too! today's post Mars Hills ... is the first post in the last few that hasn't received a "Needs Work" rating within 15 minutes of uploading the image.
The first variation of this image I deleted from my portfolio probably a year ago due to low ratings, and believe it or not this one is even more radical.

Another thing I found today - "Intimate landscapes".
I am (still) amazed that people choose to critique (negatively) by leaving a (low) vote instead of a comment!
This is a fascinating capture, featuring what I'd call uniquely structured lichens - the "pixie cup". Definitely unique in my life experience, I can't ever remember seeing them in person...I will be keeping an eye or two out for them!
