Far from the chaos of Dhaka’s concrete jungle, I found myself deep within the remote landscape of Debotakhum, nestled in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. The name Debotakhum—meaning “God’s Deep Place”was given by the indigenous communities who once revered it as an untouched natural sanctuary. This area had remained restricted for twelve months, making it even more mysterious and alluring. Curious and drawn by its silence, I reached the edge of Debotakhum—and there, I witnessed a rare and poetic scene: three monks leisurely floating on a bamboo raft. One of them, surprisingly, held a camera, capturing his fellow monks in the moment. In that serene wilderness, even a monk became a storyteller.
