Untitled 9

This self-portrait is an honest confrontation with myself. I chose the angle and the framing to strip away distance, to place the viewer directly in the space of my vulnerability. My gaze is steady because this is not about hiding, but about claiming — claiming the truth of my body, my age, my masculinity.

The black and white tones remind me of how texture holds memory: the lines of my skin, the silver in my beard, the presence of hair, all of it becomes part of the story. I wanted to capture myself without apology, without polish. To me, this photograph is about acceptance — of being fully present in my own skin, of seeing myself as I am, and of finding strength in that exposure.
