Happy Accident With Tresy

Moody boudoir shot with Italian model Tresy produced many satisfying shots. I was drawn to this one because it was the result of a misfire from my strobe which only produced a fraction of the exposure.

The overall setup for the shoot was a simple bedroom with antique bed and a large soft box placed outside of window reproducing the light normally found in early morning. Using the strobe with the soft box normally produces a reliable effect which I have used on previous shoots.

Possibly I was shooting too quickly to allow my Profoto 7b to keep on this one exposure. I'm not sure. Looking at the under exposed result I felt I could recover a compelling image without too much manipulation. The rest of the shoot had the same side-light effect but with more open shadows.

Maybe it was the piercing stare from the experienced model that made me want to keep the misfired frame into the selects from the shoot. The intended full exposure was also satisfying. ISO 200 f4 1/60 with my Nikon D850 and 24-70mm lens.
