Small & Intimate Falls

Not a big or powerful body of water, these small intimate falls stands out on it's own. Steady, gentle water flow no more than 12-15 ft in height, had me shooting multiple shots. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains; North Carolina - USA.

Raymond, your best waterfall yet, the intimacy makes it work as an image, and for you as a subject!

Hi Paul, thanks for the endorsement ! Wow !! This was a very special spot of which I identified with very comfortably.
Pisgah Nat'l Forest is a very special place. Myriad compositions, sights, and locations to choose from.

Intimate is the optimal word, in my opinion, to describe this image! Very nice!

I do wonder about the not so intimate scene, the larger view, my mind craves to know what's above.

Also, I see King Kong, or some gorilla, peaking out from behind the waterfall ... sometimes I see things in images...could be just me.

Hi Frank, thanks for your comments. As for what's above; pretty much distractions, branches, woodland forest hence, I chose to keep them out and make the waterfall the focus. To add contrast, I included the fallen leaves as a supporting element in capturing the "autumnesque" atmosphere and time of year. As for the gorilla in the background, I do not see it.

it's not an actual gorilla, but the rocks inside what looks like a small cave on the left side of the main waterfall-ing I see the head only, the eye on the left, the flat nose, and an open mouth...beware though if you look for it you may never un-see it, :D
