Along the Buriganga River in Dhaka, opposite Sadarghat, the dockyards of Keraniganj employ around 15,000 workers each day. They dismantle old ships and build new vessels from scrap, often balancing on high decks with minimal safety. Earning barely $8 a day, these laborers endure constant noise, rust-filled air, and hazardous conditions. In sandals, they carry heavy steel beams, climb makeshift wooden ramps, and haul massive propellers on rickety carts. Their hardship and perilous work speak for themselves that they are the true warriors of the trade
