The untold red chilies story.

"Red chilli drying process in Bogura, Bangladesh, is a vast, labour-intensive tradition rooted in the Char areas along the Jamuna River, particularly in Sariakandi Upazila. Under the open sun, more than a hundred women work for different factories, earning barely minimum wage. Working long hours from 10am to 5pm, six days a week, they work hard in high heat, sorting, cleaning, and drying chillies under intense sunlight. Behind the striking red landscapes lies a story of endurance, resilience, and the unseen contribution of women sustaining this fragile rural economy. These chillies are Shukna Morich. They are sun-dried here in Bangladesh to preserve them for year-round use, retaining their flavour and heat. It is also a key cash crop, drying enhances storage, transport, and trade, while remaining essential to local cuisine and spice blends."
