Tubig Mula sa Langit — Water From Heaven
There are places that exist in photographs long before you ever stand in them. Aguinid Falls in the Philippines is one of those places. The jungle holds this place like a secret it has decided, reluctantly, to share. Trees lean in from every side, filtering the light into something soft and conspiratorial. The falls themselves spill in silken threads over ancient mossy rock, each stream finding its own path down before dissolving into that pool below. A pool so still at the edges, so luminous at its center, that it looks less like water and more like the earth opened up and revealed something precious buried underneath.
Aguinid is known. People come here. And yet standing behind the lens with the long exposure pulling the water into silk, the jungle closing in around you, it felt like a discovery. Like something you stumbled onto rather than sought out. That is the gift of this place. No matter how many people have seen it, it still gives itself to you completely.
