I was photographing the Bar Harbor lighthouse and wanted to be there at sunset. I had scouted my location earlier and carried my Horseman down to the water with enough time to get a couple of Polaroids to check my composition.
I thought I had found the perfect spot below the lighthouse to catch it lit up by the sunset As I was setting up an entire group of people came hiking down the rocks to set up their cameras. They told me it was a "KodaK" picture spot and they had been led there by a photography guide.
The crowd actually made setting up and composing quite difficult. There was a beautiful open sky and as the sun was setting I walked around behind the group and turned my camera around away from the lighthouse in time to catch the orange glow on the horizon.
