Sunset and the first stars over one of the wildest and most awe-inspiring corners of the Picos de Europa. From the 2,030 metres of elevation of Jou de los Cabrones, in the heart of the Central Massif, the last light of the day fades between the imposing walls of the high mountains as the sky begins to fill with stars.
This photograph was created from two separate exposures: one taken during sunset, and another capturing the first stars of the night, while also making use of the soft light of the moon to illuminate the landscape.
Two different moments brought together in a single image, capturing the transition from the final glow of daylight to the arrival of night in one of the most remote and spectacular places in the Picos de Europa.
