Twice a year the phenomenon of the Manhattan Solstice also known as ManhattanHenge occurs. This is where the Sun sets in perfect alignment to the grid of the city streets of Manhattan. You can see the sun set from the main cross streets of Manhattan (14, 23, 34 42 & 59 street). As the sun sets the city and it's steel canyons are filled with beautiful solar flares and golden radiance. This photo was taken from in front of Grand Central Station (42nd street).
Taken with my Canon 5D Mark iii and my 50mm 1.8 lens.
