My brother and I were camping in Copper Harbor, MI. Next to our campsite was an old military post from the 1800's. As I photographed the Milky Way that night, I couldn't help but imagine that 200 years earlier, people about the same age as my brother and I were gazing from the same spot, sharing the same sense of wonder.
To evoke a sense of the past, I had my brother stand on the deck and illuminate the surrounding area with his lighter. To me it looks like someone from the past with a lantern, enjoying the night
