The Namib

The million years old sand dunes stand as gatekeepers when entering the Namib Desert at Sesriem, Namibia. The drive through the valley with tall sand dunes on both sides is just breathtaking! This place will always be a highlight in Namibia.
During the drive towards Deadvlei and Sossusvlei via the valley, we stopped along the road because the sun just rose above some mountains in the east! The light made the dunes glow in warm light and long dark shadows appeared, what a fantastic contrast combined with the sharp lines formed on the dunes.
