Borobudur Sunrise

16mm · f/10.0 · 1/5000s · ISO 100

Today I bring you the first photo of our recent trip to Indonesia, the Borobodur temple on the island of Java.

Borobudur is the largest Buddhist monument in the world which was abandoned in the 14th century for unknown reasons and was covered by layers of volcanic ash and vegetation. It was discovered in 1814 and has been preserved ever since.

Paying an extra at the entrance you can enter at 4:30 AM and see the sunrise from there 🌞, it is a pleasure to be in the dark and as the light comes in contemplate where you are.
