Fall colors in the cypress swamps of the Atchafalaya basin, USA. This photograph was made handheld while I was gently floating my kayak in the bayou. Hence the shallow aperture to have a fast enough shutter speed and acceptable ISO, because a tripod could not be used. The shallow DOF ads to the eery autumn atmosphere and gives the image a painterly impressionistic feel.
