Jackrabbit Homestead by Kim Stringfellow is an art installation at Desert X 2021. She explores the legacy of the Small Tract Act in California's Morongo Basin region near Joshua Tree National Park. Her recreation of a 122 sq foot cabin built by homesteaders from a kit was not uncommon in the deserts of California in the 1950s.
