Ancient Mother

Ancient Mother is a magnificent oak tree on the edge of a reserve in California, not far from the Pacific coast.​​​​​​​ This forest is over 800 years old and feels as though it is home to many prehistoric manifestations of my imagination. After exploring and photographing this arcane realm, she found me at her feet imbued with awe and reverence. To me, this image embodies the wild places we once spent countless hours in as a child, perhaps when our minds were unadulterated by time.
