Photographer Wyatt Neumann Has Unexpectedly Passed Away

A well-known member of our photo community passed away this weekend. Photographer Wyatt Neumann died after suffering a brain aneurysm which caused him to lose control of the motorcycle he was driving and causing him to crash. As Stephen Lucier put it, Wyatt was known to many as a "photographer, friend, bad boy, husband, dad, man" as well as a mentor to numerous others.

You may recall Wyatt's work from a previous article we did about what some called a "controversial" art series "I Feel Sorry For Your Children: The Sexualization of Innocence in America". Although, to the people that knew Wyatt, they know he loved his wife and two daughters with all of his being.

Many have taken to social media to express their shock and sorrow at the loss of Wyatt Neumann:

Wyatt's friends and family have set up an online fundraiser to support Wyatt's first priority in his life and his heart, his family:

Our close friend Wyatt Neumann suffered a brain aneurysm yesterday that caused him to loose control of his motorcycle. He has passed. RIP. We have to take care of Jena and the kids, just like he would have wanted.

Moments like these never last.

It breaks our hearts to post this. Our minds and hearts are filled with sadness.

We will post updates as we find out more.

Please keep Wyatt, Jena, Takota and Stella in your prayers.

Please help so we can provide a bit or a lot of what Wyatt was so fiercely committed to - taking care of his loved ones. He was the single income provider for his family. Takota is a special needs child and to accommodate his needs he has to attend a special school. We hope to raise money so the kids can go on with a life of choices and education as if their dad was still around.

Wyatt counts on us. And with your help we will provide. Thank You.

While I do not know Wyatt personally, I do value and appreciate how fragile life can be and can only imagine what the loss of a loving father will do to his family. If you have loved ones nearby, give them an extra hug today and remember to cherish every new day.

What a sad, sad story...rest in peace, Wyatt...

You may be gone, but you have left us the gift of your art. Rest in peace.

Rest in Peace, my friend. You are missed.

JESUS FUCK. I JUST talked to Wyatt, in length, the other day on having children and the stigmas attached to shooting them as well as also shooting nude photography. I'd deleted everything off social media, then had a long conversation with Wyatt where he put SO much into perspective for me. I didn't even have a chance to thank you properly. :(
