A fiery sunset fades into blue hour as clouds streak over the city. One of the best views of the Manhattan skyline is across the East River from Brooklyn Bridge Park. Lots of great photographic vantage points including the pylons at the lower southern end of Pier One but I preferred the straight on view with the skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. I recommend getting a pizza to go from Grimaldi's or Juliana's down the street and enjoying the view, slice in hand.
I used a 4 stop ND filter to streak the clouds and soften the water. Using luminosity masking, I manually blended together two images in Photoshop, one with the sunset and the other with the city lights on during blue hour.
