A friend, former co-worker, and local morning news anchor spent the last two years in Maine. She recently departed for a new position in her home state of South Carolina. Some people are just easy to photograph, and Laura is one of them. She was always patient as I readied the camera and lighting in all of our photo projects. Laura loves Maine, and it was pretty obvious that Maine and all its seasons and beauty loved her. Although it was late fall in this pic, the yellows and oranges were still vibrant and on the trees...for the most part. I used a Nikon D7100, 50mm 1.8 lens, shot at f/2.8, speed 1/200, ISO-100. I also used LR and PS for adjustments.
This young woman is stunning. The lighting is excellent. The colors are perfect. Her eyes are amazing. In my opinion, the trees in the background are a bit distracting. One old rule in photography is always watch for distracting elements in the background. If you crop the top of this image tighter, you will eliminate the trees. Thank you for sharing this image.
Thanks, Jay. Cropping was tough. I cut off part off her foot on the left side, and I wanted to save some of the tree she leaned on in the right. I experimented a few different ways and what you see seemed to be the logical conclusion...at least to me. She's a beauty, for sure.
There is no disputing she is amazing. The eyes just draw you in. It is unfortunate that you did not capture many images of her. It has been said the eyes are the windows to a person's soul. If that is true, she must posses an amazing soul. Once again thank you for sharing this image.
