I grew up in a town with no public transportation. If you wanted to get somewhere you had to walk, ride a bike, or drive. When I moved to the city, I got a little overwhelmed by public transport. Yeah, sometimes the CTA is gross and crowded, and delayed, but I fell in love with it when I moved here. The way the el train weaves in between buildings, under and over streets, whooshing past you on the platform. It's one of my favorite things about the city. It's as much a part of Chicago as Wrigley Field or Sears Tower or Lake Michigan.
