Shooting architecture in Chicago can be kind of hard. You can either be at ground level, or you can be way up in a building looking down/out at everything. Unfortunately for photographers, most buildings in the city won't let you get up to their roof/top floors. So that leaves us with a lot of parking garages. There's at least one every few blocks, and a lot of them will give you access to a rooftop or skydeck level. This one in particular is a really fun place to shoot because it's such a challenge. You literally have to climb halfway over this opening in the wall and reach out as far as you can to get shots of the el tracks and the street below. It's got this incredible view of the train tracks where they turn and everything is just so quiet. The loud, bustling city seems calmer up there.
