This long exposure taken on a bitterly cold morning high up on New Zealand's Crown Range Pass remains one of my favourite images. I scoured the hills in the dark for a suitable foreground until I stumbled across this beautiful spiky plant. When the first light hit the distant range, piercing the moody sky, I knew I had captured something special.
