"Purity" is part of a personal project on natural beauty. Apart from a little concealer, no other makeup was worn. I wanted to create something very simple, organic and elegant. I set myself a budget of just £10 and bought some flowers off eBay and a tube top for the model to wear. This was the first time of working with her and despite her age and relative inexperience, she performed marvelously.
Due to the size limitations of my small studio, I elected to use 4 hard lights to contain the spill. When combined they created a nice soft light feel to the image. 3 lights were used on the model, 1 on the backdrop.
The image recently won first place in Digital Photo's POTY competition in the Creative Portraits round.
