Alone In The Dark

I'd bought my niece this little outfit and lantern the week before, with the intention of doing something atmospheric with it. She is not the easiest child to photograph at all and being only 2.5 years old, she doesn't follow directions particularly well either. I set up my lights and the studio and dialed in my exposure. Thankfully she went into a little daydream and stayed still long enough to get this and a few other shots. 5 minutes later she had had enough and that was the end of the shoot. With kids you have to plan ahead, work fast and have a little luck on your side. A degree in child psychology wouldn't go amiss either!

I have the same issues with my 3 year old. You did well to capture this shot! Good on you.

It can be so rewarding when you get the shot but, boy they make you work for it!! Thank you for the kind words :)
