The End is Here

Here is a photo taken in the Faroe Islands, at the farthest point of Kalsoy island, which boasts a dramatic coast with very high and precipitous cliffs. The scenery is just breathtaking, and a lighthouse standing there looks like a tiny toy against its neighbour. I tried to find a nice composition on a narrow rock ledge and to maintain my balance in very strong winds. In the same moment, I noticed something really spectacular happening with the light as beams of sunlight broke through the cloud shelf and lighting up the waves of the North Atlantic. This was a fleeting moment but it represents an essence of the Faroese landscape: remoteness, unspoiled nature, ever changing weather, the winds, the breeze...
