Brush Turkeys are well known as survivors in both the bush and the suburbs, digging and creating enormous nest mounds wherever there is plentiful dirt and/or freshly placed mulch!
This individual showed little interest in me as it dug for roots to peck at in the soil. This allowed me to get quite close with a wide angle lens for a rather different perspective of this common but often misunderstood and underappreciated species.
