The last weeks have been rain followed by rain in my hometown, melting all the snow and giving small creeks great powers.
In this area people usually go skiing in January, but now it is lush as it would be in Springtime.
When post processing photos like this I often like to give them a touch of fairytale. There was a soft mist in this valley which I have worked on in the editing.
Giving the light some extra softness and lifted the shadows, and some dodging details on the light.
Also I have added cooler colors to the water, which I find works good with the complementary greenish yellow colors on the ground and background.
Love this one, Fredrik! You succeed with your "touch of fairytale". I think this composition is beautifully balanced and satisfying.
I much prefer it in this respect to your "Where the Elves Live" which I first thought is from the same shoot. Both have similar colours and atmosphere.
Thanks Chris, really appreciate it! And I have to agree. Which is crazy, since Where the elves live is from a famous spot on Iceland while this one is at a usually quite regular spot in the forest outside my hometown. But the conditions where superb this day in that forest, with the mist and the unusually large creek :)
Amazing capture!
