As much joy as seeing the Sandhill Crane colt was, it seems to me the parents have enough on their plate without me bothering them. The last two times I went to try and get another glimpse they acted more alarmed at my presence than the first time, and especially yesterday they hurried away after seeing me even though I was further away than any previous time. On top of that, every time they move about they have to deal with Red-winged Blackbirds attacking them and I can see how annoying it all is for the cranes. So with that I think I'll put a hold on seeing them again. My photos definitely take a backseat to any animal's well being.
