Red-winged Blackbird and Sandhill Crane

As much joy as seeing the Sandhill Crane colt was, it seems to me the parents have enough on their plate without me bothering them. The last two times I went to try and get another glimpse they acted more alarmed at my presence than the first time, and especially yesterday they hurried away after seeing me even though I was further away than any previous time. On top of that, every time they move about they have to deal with Red-winged Blackbirds attacking them and I can see how annoying it all is for the cranes. So with that I think I'll put a hold on seeing them again. My photos definitely take a backseat to any animal's well being.

Captured with the Canon EOS-1D X and Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM +1.4x III on May 17, 2019 at 7:48 PM. I used One Shot AF mode and multi-segment metering. Shade WB setting.

Raw processed in DPP4. NR and sharpening with Topaz.
