The background and the perch are superlative. They do not distract one from the Warbler at all. And yet they are sufficient to show the viewer what the habitat is like.

The branch that spans the top of the frame does so much for this composition, as do the subtle changes from brown to green in the totally out-of-focus background bokeh.

The background provides the mood, and a "sense of place", a feel of being in the woods under the canopy, without distracting from the subject at all. When you can manage to do that, and combine it with a subject that is perfectly posed to showcase his plumage at an advantage, then you have created one heck of a perfect bird portrait!
