The Triangulum Galaxy is a spiral galaxy located 2.7 million miles from our Milky Way galaxy. This is the furthest deep sky object that can be seen with the unaided eye, and only from pristine dark sites. Andromeda is a much larger and brighter galaxy, a bit closer at 2.5 million miles away and easy to see even from suburban skies with the unaided eye when it is high enough in the sky.
