The recipe for a great night (which actually happened a couple of nights ago): when you combine a great location, super clear sky, no bright moon, no wind which grants mirror reflections and lovely auroras...you can't really go wrong :)
This actually happened a couple of nights ago in a place called Grotfjord, near Tromso, northern Norway. I was guiding a tour and managed to be one of the first ones out of the city and could pick my stop for the night. Surrounded with beautiful mountains, this narrow fjord is one of my favorite locations and it all came together here.
